We can accept almost any image file, although we recommend that you download one of these templates to work from.
Files should be RGB and preferably be at 300 DPI. Ensure there is enough space around the key parts of the image to allow for it to be centered in the badge without being cut off or with any white space showing. Please make sure you change the filename to include your name and a description of the badge.
If you want to draw a badge by hand please read the instructions below:
- Draw an outer border which will guide us when cutting out the the artwork, 47mm wide for 38mm badges, 34mm wide for 25mm badges.
- Background images/colours should extend to the outer edge, but keep the main part of the image, and any text within 6mm of the edge as this margin will be folded around behin the badge when pressing.
- We cut our badges by hand so there is sometime a very slight discrepancy (+/-1mm) when centering the image.
Then, either send it to us at the address below, arrange a time to bring it over, or scan it in (please scan at 300dpi) and send it to us via Email or the Contact form.

Fancy having a go on an online badge design app?
Our component supplier E Badges are developing an online badge design tool and they’ve give us permission to share it with you; but with the caveat “it can be a bit glitchy, and is still under development“. We’ve given it a go and it’s not bad. The main thing to remember is that when you print your designs, make sure that the “Hide overflow” setting set to “Yes”, otherwise it will include the dotted inner margin. Ooh, also, their inner margin is a bit too narrow, so allow at least twice it’s width to keep designs within the visible part of the badge. When you “Print” it will save the design to your computer as a .PNG file. Be sure to rename the file so it includes your name and the title of the badge before you send it to us. We’ll resize it for you and check it fits before making it. Click here to try it out (link opens in a new tab).
If you have any difficulties with, or questions about these templates, please contact us with the problem and we’ll do our best to help.
